Since 2022, Do Good Today has furnished over 900 homes, effectively diverting an estimated 1,300 tons of furniture and household items from the landfill, turning what would have been waste into the foundation of a stable home.

About Do Good Today Utah

Do Good Today was founded nearly five years ago by Gary and Margaret Attebery.  What began as two SUVs loaded with blankets and hygiene kits has grown into a community movement.

We are a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Weber County.

Do Good Today has:

  • distributed over 30k lbs of food

  • furnished over 900 homes diverting an estimated 1,300 tons of furniture, household items and clothing from landfills

  • made over 5,000 connections in our community

  • distributed dozens of bikes to those in need of transportation

  • helped community members claim over $100k in missed stimulus payments

Our Impact

This effort is made possible by thousands of hours of community volunteerism.

Unfortunately, those thousands of hours are split between only a handful of reliable DGT volunteers. We are in desperate need of additional volunteers to continue to provide these services. The demand only grows, but our ability to help is limited. Can you help?

At DGT, we're dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects. We value Ogden's diverse population and believe it enriches our organization. Through our programs, we strive to create a sense of belonging for everyone. We celebrate our community's diversity and work to ensure everyone feels welcome and able to thrive. Through this effort we're not just serving those in need; we're building a stronger, fairer community. DGT programs are available for all eligible individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or personal circumstances.

Advisory Board

Margaret Attebery

Margaret Attebery

"Finding a stable transition was hard, but the connections we made here gave me the strength to keep going every single day."

Margaret Attebery is the quiet heart of Do Good Today. Alongside her husband Gary, she co-founded our organization after the loss of their youngest son. While Gary is often out loading trucks and delivering furniture, Margaret is behind the scenes purchasing supplies, coordinating volunteers, and keeping everything running. She has served tirelessly for nearly five years without asking for recognition.

Craig Berry

Craig Berry

Craig has been on the advisory board of Do Good Today since 2021. He and his wife Jo spend hundreds of hours sorting and hauling clothing back and forth to community outreach.

Kent Davis

Tami Davis

Tami Davis is one of the hardest-working volunteers ever. Alongside her husband Kent, she coordinates furniture donations, organizes yard sales, and takes items we cannot use to our partner organizations. She also comes to almost every outreach. Tami has served for years without compensation, simply because she believes our unsheltered neighbors matter.

Susan Kilmore
